RESOURCE ACCESS

Aiding Mental and Emotional Health

A benefit of Corey's Place is the access we provide for the families, teachers, and community members to trained professionals with a plethora of knowledge in the field encompassing people with special needs. When people feel they are lost in how to communicate with, interact with, or simply aid a person in need, they may feel defeated due to the lack of knowledge. However, our center provides access to professionals who not only deal with people in need on a regular basis but also are qualified to train and teach others the same needed knowledge.

Another reason this may be useful is that it can also provide parents with the ability to know the necessary resources to best protect and teach their children. One example would be the available access to nurses and caregivers that may be able to help the parents find the time to do errands and work without the constant worry that the person watching their child won't know what to do if they have a medical emergency or they are acting out in some way.

We want everyone to have this information, even if they don't know anyone with special needs or have any needs themselves because if a situation were ever to arise then they will be a little more prepared and they would also be able to pass that knowledge on to other people in the world.
