A BIT ABOUT US

Here at Corey's Place, we’re committed to investing our expertise and resources to further achieve our cause. Since 2019, we’ve been supporting our community members in a variety of ways and measuring our success not by monetary size, but by more qualitative measurements such as the scale and effectiveness of our efforts. Just imagine what we can achieve together!

Corey's Place was founded by Carmen Parker who is a mother of a special needs son who became an advocate for people with special needs by being a part of a community who wanted to see a change. While furthering her education, working full-time, and raising her other three children, she began her efforts to not only bring awareness for the tools necessary for a child with special needs in a schooling environment but also in the outside community. She authored an autobiography illustrating her journey as a new advocate for one of her four children that possessed a special need while maintaining her role as a full-time professional, full-time student, and continuing her enduring dedication to her other children while fighting Multiple Sclerosis herself.

Carmen has continuously shown her passion for advancing the fight for not only people with special needs but aiding the families who need access to helpful resources, or services, necessary in the growth of their loved ones. She leads the pursuit of providing families with an opportunity to get in touch with qualified professionals that can positively impact the family's life, for the relative's success. Carmen has provided families with access to multiple resources all over San Diego and the surrounding cities, and she has also enlisted the support of her own family and friends in events such as the Epilepsy Awareness and Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Walks and in feeding the homeless with her own home-cooked meals.
