HOMELESS OUTREACH

One of the most important aspects of Corey's Place is the effect it has on the homeless in the city of San Diego. It starts off with cooking classes for people with special needs which provides them with the knowledge of recipes and the techniques needed for them to be able to cook for themselves. It also helps them understand how to not waste food and prepare themselves for the week.

Another aspect of these cooking classes is that each of the remaining meals prepared by the people in the class is then donated to the local homeless shelters and homeless people on the streets. This ensures that not only do we provide a crucial skill set for the members of Corey's Place, but we also aid in providing other people in need with food prepared in house.

Lastly, an added benefit is that we also can include other members of the community in the process of not only acquiring these same abilities but also giving back to their communities as well. We additionally hold can food drives and distribution events to efficiently provide the homeless with the cooked meals and packaged food essential to get them the nutrition and help they need.
